Osteotomy was performed such that the PFR stem was inserted as far into the intact part of the femur as possible (white arrow). After osteotomy, the remaining bone fragment of the proximal diaphyseal femur was longitudinally opened and separated without detaching it from the muscle (white arrowheads).
